I began my career at BD Network in Fitzroy.
While at BD, I designed toolkits for Jacob’s Creek and Pernod Ricard’s local and global markets.
Each toolkit needed 40–80 pages of content. I designed each layout; laying out copy and creating graphics across all pages, to meet swift deadlines. I was the sole designer for much of it, right in the deep end with just a few month’s advertising experience!
Each campaign’s artwork required full visualisation with mockups and in-situ concepts. Each toolkit also needed downloadable finished artwork of the Key Visual and extended collateral: Point of Sale, Posters, Hanging Banners and so on, ready to print.
I had the opportunity to lay down styleguide rules and guidelines for many of these toolkits. I learned a lot during this time; seeing each brand evolve, and dictating type and layout rules to keep the brand’s artwork strong and consistent: no matter how it was adapted.
